Hello! Gors here, bringing another chiptune album to start 2020. This time around, I remastered a soundtrack I made in 2014-2016 for a RPG project that didn't come to fruition. However, I edited and finished the tracks for your enjoyment. The tracks use 2A03 + 4 NAMCO 163 tracks.

Along with the music, I wrote some flavor text that reveals how the game would work. Please enjoy!

今回の作品は2014～2016年に作曲を担当したオリジナルRPGサントラ《ASCENSION》です。誠に残念ですがこのゲームは完成されませんでしたが、僕が曲の編曲とマスタリングし、サントラだけ完成しました。

People always sought the protection from Gods and Goddesses. Walking a tortuous path of uncertainty and fear, humans have always reached for Divine Help, sent from the Heavens as beams of sparkling light. All kinds of problems, easy or hard, simple or complex, were trusted to the Gods. The believers' Destinies, written with sacred golden ink, would lead them to a happy life. In turn, the deities would absorb power from their faith, forming a collaborative circle: the people's prayers would convert to Divine Light, which is the Gods and Goddesses' source of power.

However, many centuries have passed, and a sea of brown leaves covered what was a peaceful and happy lifestyle. The advent of technology, allied to scientific knowledge, made people steer away from deities. The humans, oblivious, weak and dependent before, learned to be self-sustainable, creating solutions to their problems by themselves. This broke the perfect balance between the Gods and humankind, draining all the Divine Power out from the world.

The year is 2014, vacation season. The tired people seeks a relaxing week at the city's popular vacation spot: a visit to the imponent stone obelisk, the Mount Oni. Believed to be the land of the yokai in the ancient world, now the place attracts tourists from the city, who come to see the ancient Kitsune Goddess's shrine and climb the mountain to cleanse their mind. Unfortunately, reports of people being attacked by yokai have popped up frequently, putting many lives at risk...

Enjoying yet another calm day reading manga and eating senbei, Tsukiko and Yoko, the two otaku Kitsune Goddesses that live in the shrine, hear a horrible scream. Outside, a weird, green bullet man is lying on the ground. "What could this be?" Yoko questions her younger sister. "Gors...?"

Tsukiko quickly brings him back into the shrine. There, Gors recovers his consciousness and tells the deities that evil oni have ambushed him. "Please, do something about them! You're goddesses, aren't you?"

"Well, the manga was boring anyway...", Tsukiko answers. "Let's go, Yoko! We need to pay the oni a visit!"

人々は永い間神々のご加護を求めていました。彼らの命は不安と恐怖にまとわれ、神様に心を込めて安心を願いました。たとえ簡単な問題も、複雑な問題も、全部神々に任されたのです。その代わり、天に住む神たちはその祈りの力を吸収し、人々に様々な恵みを与え、彼らに安らかな人生を過ごせました。

でもその平和な時代が過ぎ、枯れ葉に埋もれてしまいました。今の人たちは科学により、自分で問題を理解し、神々たちにたよることをやめました。祈りの力を失った神たちは弱まってしまい、恵みを与えることもできなくなりました。

2014年。仕事に疲れた人たちはリラックスするため、近くにある「鬼山（おにやま）」という山に行きました。昔は多くの妖怪が住んでいると言われ、今は有名なツーリズムスポットと知られている鬼山。ここが冒険の舞台になるのです。

相変わらず神社に漫画を読みながらせんべいを食べているオタクキツネ姉妹、月子（ツキコ）と陽子（ヨウコ）。またのんびりな一日をすごせると思っている二人が突然悲鳴を聞きました。急いで外に出たら、緑の弾丸男が倒れていました。「うわっ、何だこれは？」陽子は妹に問いました。「...Gorsさん！？」

月子はGorsを神社に運び、彼の意識が戻るまで待ちました。元に戻ったGorsはキツネたちに大変なことを言いました。「鬼が！！鬼が僕を襲い掛かったんだ！お願い、何とかしてくれ！君たちは神様だろ！？」

「うーん、読んでいた漫画より面白いかも。お姉ちゃん、鬼退治の時間よ！」
